    LE SSERAFIM’s latest track Spaghetti featuring J-Hope of BTS, has quickly gone viral, but not entirely for the right reasons.

    LE SSERAFIM might have just wrapped the North American leg of their Easy Crazy Hot Tour, but the girl brand is already onto their next era with their first single album, Spaghetti, which taps BTS member J-Hope for the title track. Released today, October 24, Spaghetti arrives with a Korean and English version of the title track with J-Hope, as well as a members-only version and the B-side Pearlies (My Oyster Is The World).

    BTS’ J-Hope’s lyrics criticised

    BTS’ J-Hope, who features on the song, is being heavily criticised online for his self-written rap verse. International netizens aren’t big fans of the translated lyrics, with some even calling the verse a “mess.” While the track itself has drawn mixed reactions from domestic and international fans, some love it, some hate it. J-Hope’s verse has drawn backlash from international fans who say the lyrics feel nonsensical. The rapper’s verse includes lines such as “You’re lost in the sauce, no turnin’ back,” and “Your guilty pleasure, your high-calorie Hershey chocolate,” which have sparked heated debate on social media platforms.

    Netizens think J-Hope is trying too hard

    Some netizens accused the idol of trying too hard to sound clever, while others raised concerns over certain lines that could be considered insensitive, particularly those referencing food and calories, which some listeners said were triggering for people recovering from eating disorders.
    Although J-Hope’s fans have defended his verse, arguing that the lyrics are playful and fit the song’s concept, the debate continues to spread rapidly.
