NBC has canceled two shows — Brilliant Minds and Stumble — as it heads toward its upfront presentation.

Medical drama Brilliant Minds, starring Zachary Quinto, will end after two seasons. NBC earlier this year pulled the show from its post-Olympics schedule; its final episodes will run during the summer, beginning May 27.

The comedy Stumble, a mockumentary about a college cheer squad and its coach (Jenn Lyon), is done after a single season. Its final episode aired in March.

Both shows were among NBC’s least watched scripted series of the season. With seven days of linear viewing (i.e., before streaming), Brilliant Minds averaged just above 3 million viewers, a smaller total than any other drama on the network this season. Stumble, meanwhile, came in at 2.24 million viewers.

NBC still has three shows waiting to hear word on their status for the 2026-27 season: dramas Law & Order and The Hunting Party and first-year comedy The Fall and Rise of Reggie Dinkins. NBC also ordered eight pilots — a higher than usual number for recent years — that are in contention for next season. NBCUniversal’s upfront is set for May 11.

Brilliant Minds is produced by Warner Bros. Television and Universal Television. Along with Quinto, the cast includes Tamberla Perry, Ashleigh LaThrop, Alex MacNicoll, Aury Krebs, Spence Moore II, Teddy Sears, Donna Murphy, John Clarence Stewart, Brian Altemus and Al Calderon.

Michael Grassi created the drama, which is loosely based on the work of neurologist Oliver Sacks. He executive produces with Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter, Leigh London Redman, Lee Toland Krieger, DeMane Davis, Jasmine Russ, Henrik Bastin, Jonathan Cavendish, Andy Serkis and Shefali Malhoutra.

Stumble, from Universal TV, also stars Taran Killam, Ryan Pinkston, Jarrett Austin Brown, Anissa Borrego, Arianna Davis, Taylor Dunbar and Georgie Murphy; Kristin Chenoweth recurred. Jeff and Liz Astrof created the series and executive produced with Jeff Blitz, Dana Honor and Monica Aldama.

Keep track of all the broadcast cancellations, renewals and new series pickups with THR’s network scorecard for 2026.
