Actress and model Shefali Jariwala died late on June 27 after she suffered a cardiac arrest. As per initial investigations suggested unsupervised use of anti-ageing medication which included glutathione and vitamin C injections which caused the cardiac arrest.
Shefali reportedly collapsed between 10 and 11 pm on Friday and was declared dead when her husband Parag Tyagi and others rushed her to the hospital. As per reports, the actress was fasting for a puja earlier that day but still took her regular anti-ageing shot in the afternoon. The police officials probed prolonged use of these medications which she had been taking for 7-8 years triggered the cardiac event. Bryan Johnson, 47, is a Utah-based entrepreneur who founded Braintree and the payments company acquired Venmo and was sold to PayPal for $800 million in 2013. He even launched Kernel, a neurotech firm and later started Project Blueprint, a $2 million-a-year self-experiment which aimed at reversing ageing in every part of his body right from his heart and brain to his skin, liver, and even genitals.
Johnson later claimed that his body now functions like that of an 18-year-old and his doctors say key biological markers like inflammation, organ health, and skin elasticity, point to slowed or even reversed ageing. The tests showed his skin matched a 28-year-old’s and his fitness levels matched with an 18-year-old athlete.
Bryan Johnson’s blood experiment
Bryan Johnson took a three-generation plasma swap involving himself, his 17-year-old son, and his elderly father. He was inspired by parabiosis studies in mice and received plasma from his son to reverse ageing. He tracked his health markers and Johnson admitted the experiment showed no benefits and he decided to stop it. His son and father faced no side effects and later he joked about giving away leftover age-reversal plasma. Bryan reportedly removed all 2.5 litres of his plasma and replaced it with synthetic albumin and IVIG to flush out the damaging proteins which helped him to reset his body at the cellular level. His doctors later found his plasma unusually clean and credited his disciplined lifestyle. Experts warned against procedures that could be risky without a medical need with infection and immune issues. The US Food and Drug Administration has warned against young blood therapies which cited unknown long-term effects.
As per reports, Bryan spends around $2 million every year on his strict anti-ageing lifestyle and his daily routine includes taking over 50 supplements with a vegan diet and eats dinner before noon. He even undergoes laser therapy, microneedling, ultrasounds, MRI scans, and uses shockwave therapy to maintain his sexual health age.
