The opening weekend for both Pradeep Ranganathan’s Dude and Dhruv Vikram’s starrer Bison Kaalamaadan is finally done. Let’s take a look at how the films did on day 4 of the release.
This Diwali brought fireworks not just in the sky, but also at the South Indian box office! This festive season’s two big releases Dude and Bison (Bison Kaalamaadn) went head-to-head, giving audiences a great mix of entertainment. On one side, Dude, is a rom-com directed by Keerthiswaran and starring Pradeep Ranganathan in key roles, the movie has been winning hearts with its humour, romance, and youthful vibe.
On the other hand, Bison, which is directed by Mari Selvaraj and featuring Dhruv Vikram, this is a gritty sports drama packed with emotion and powerful storytelling.
Box Office Update – Day 4 (Monday, Oct 20, 2025)
Dude, Opening Day (Friday): ₹9.75 crore, Opening Weekend (Fri–Sun): ₹30.75 crore (net), Monday Early Estimate (till 7:15 pm): ₹7.47 crore, Total so far (4 days): ₹38.22 crore (approx.)
Pradeep’s film has been riding high on Diwali buzz, and even on Monday, it’s showing strong collections.
Bison
Opening Day (Friday): ₹2.7 crore, Opening Weekend (Fri–Sun): ₹10.1 crore (net), Monday Early Estimate (till 7:15 pm): ₹3.91 crore, Total so far (4 days): ₹14.51 crore (approx.)
Though Bison had a modest start, word-of-mouth has helped it pick up pace over the weekend and into Monday.
Who’s Leading the Race?
As of Monday evening, Dude is clearly ahead with a lead of approximately ₹23.71 crore over Bison. While both films are performing well in their own space, it’s Dude that’s currently ruling the Diwali box office.
