Groups ILLIT, KATSEYE and RIIZE will be among the first to perform at the first-ever Los Angeles ceremony for the MAMA Awards, Korean entertainment giant CJ ENM announced Monday.
The two-day award show, touted as the “No. 1 K-Pop awards,” will technically be held across three days due to time zone differences. The L.A. portion of the show, taking place on Nov. 21, will be held at the Dolby Theatre. The second portion of the award show will take place at the Kyocera Dome Osaka in Japan.
K-Pop groups Enhypen, Tomorrow x Together and IVE are set to perform in Japan on Nov. 22. Groups aespa, INI and ZEROBASEONE are expected to preform on Nov. 23 in Japan.

The 2024 ceremony, sponsored by Visa, is centered around the “BIG BLUR : What is Real?” concept. Through the concept, the award show will “present surreal but real experiences and showcase visually captivating performances through the convergence of art and technology,” according to a release from CJ ENM.
The MAMA Awards have been put on for 25 years, with previous ceremonies happening across Asia. The 2024 award show will also be available to stream on global digital platforms.
The awards show also released nominations early Monday morning. The show has updated its criteria for the 2024 awards and added a new “Best Choreography” category. The albums, songs and artists nominated “are assessed based on a holistic evaluation of global music data and a panel of specialists,” according to a release.
