Popular Television couple Jay Bhanushali and Mahhi Vij recently faced major online rumours claiming that they were heading for a divorce after 15 years of marriage. Some reports even suggested that the two had finalised their separation between July and August 2025. However, Mahhi has now addressed these claims in a video on her YouTube channel, setting the record straight, especially about the reports that she’s taking ₹5 crore alimony from Jay.
In the video, Mahhi said, “Please talk when there’s proof. I don’t even understand the concept of alimony. If a person has earned money, it belongs to them. I’m saying this not just for myself but for women in general.” She added that alimony makes sense only for housewives who have never worked, but women who can work should focus on being financially independent.
She continued, “When paths separate, earn your own living. Even when you’re together, every woman should be financially independent, not dependent on her father or husband. Don’t believe any news unless it comes from me directly.”
While Mahhi didn’t confirm or deny the divorce, she urged everyone to respect their privacy, saying, “Jay is my family and will always be. He’s a wonderful father and a wonderful human being.”
Jay and Mahhi, who tied the knot in 2010, are proud parents to three children, their biological daughter Tara and foster kids Rajveer and Khushi.
