Lucky Ali COMMENTS on Javed Akhtar’s viral video, asks Hindus not to become like...: 'Ugly as...'

The singer Lucky Ali has recently taken a shot at the famous poet and writer Javed Akhtar. A clip from the past showing Javed Akhtar has gone viral on the internet, in which he can be heard advising Hindus not to imitate Muslims. Nevertheless, the video’s precise date and time have not been verified yet. The singer, in response to the video, tweeted, “Do not turn into Javed Akhtar, who is always unoriginal and ugly as f***…”. His comment soon went viral and stirred up discussions around it.

What was the comment of Javed Akhtar upon the Muslim community?

In the clip, Javed Akhtar uses a well-known scene from the classic movie Sholay that was a hit in 1975, to explain himself, “In Sholay, Dharmendra was hiding behind Shivji’s murti and speaking, and Hema Malini (thought) Shivji was talking to her. Would such a scene be possible today? No, I will not write a scene (like this today). Had there been no Hindus in 1975 (when Sholay released)? Were there no dharmic people? They were there.” He further stated, “In fact, I am on record; I am not saying it right here. Raju Hirani and I were in Pune in front of a huge audience and I said, ‘Don’t be like Muslims. Make them like yourself. You are turning into Muslims.’ It is a tragedy.”

Javed Akhtar is well known for his direct remarks and for advocating a non-radical approach on the internet. The other day, the Muslim group Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind protested against Javed Akhtar being the main guest which resulted in the postponement of a cultural activity in Kolkata. Later, in a talk with NDTV, Javed Akhtar mentioned that the Hindu and Muslim extremists were spreading hatred against him simultaneously. He said, “Some people call me a jihadi and tell me to move to Pakistan. Others call me a kaafir, saying I will definitely go to hell and should change my name, that I don’t have the right to have a Muslim sounding name.”
