Attention Sundancers: There’s a new spot in Deer Valley to ski, sip, dine and slumber.
Last November delivered the unveiling of Grand Hyatt Deer Valley, the hotel brand’s first Utah property, located in the newly developed East Village. The hotel boasts 436 guestrooms, accommodations that range from rooms and suites to one, two and three-bedroom luxury residences described as “contemporary design meets rustic charm,” per Hyatt.
Dining options on site are signature restaurant Remington Hall, which offers breakfast, lunch and dinner and views of Jordanelle Reservoir (special dishes cited by the hotel range from bison tartare with cured egg yolk and truffle aioli to wild boar Bolognese); cocktail and light bites haven Hidden Ace Speakeasy, which hosts “live performances by local legends” and whisky-forward sips; The Living Room, an après experience with a fireplace and a signature “High Chocolate” offering presented like a high tea service, complemented by s’mores, cookies, chocolate snowballs and other baked goods; and Double Blacks, a comfort meets coffee shop with more hot chocolate, spiced ciders and menu items like truffle mac ‘n’ cheese and croque monsieurs.

Additional amenities include a heated outdoor pool, three oversized hot tubs and a pool deck with panoramic views and a nighttime entertainment program. With Deer Valley lift tickets, guests can access three new chairlifts and 20 new ski runs across 300 new skiable acres.
There’s more: Grand Hyatt Deer Valley hosts 30,000+ square feet of event space, 10,000 of which hosts a grand ballroom that will be put to use by Sundance Institute on Jan. 24 when the festival teams with Google TV for an annual gala fundraiser. This year’s will celebrate Sundance Institute’s beloved founding senior director of artist programs Michelle Satter (who lost her family home in the Palisades Fire), A Complete Unknown filmmaker James Mangold (a Sundance Labs and festival alum), Wicked star Cynthia Erivo, Didi writer-director Sean Wang, and Julian Brave NoiseCat and Emily Kassie, co-directors of Sugarcane. The latter three filmmakers debuted their films during the 2024 festival.
Back to Grand Hyatt. The brand will host a series of events at a dedicated Sundance space during opening weekend of the festival. From Jan. 24-26, the hotel will team with The Standard, High Line to bring its notable NYC bingo night to Park City. Also that weekend, Grand Hyatt will offer “Reset for the Day with Wellbeing Mornings,” a meditation led by Headspace’s Dora Kamau, and movement sessions with Peloton instructors Ally Love and Aditi Shah.
