Ariana Grande is not canceling her tour. The Eternal Sunshine Tour is still running and will continue through its final date on September 1, 2026, at London’s O2 Arena. What Ariana did announce, through a representative on August 2, is that she plans to step away from public life once the tour wraps. “Ariana will be taking a step back from visibility after she completes the Eternal Sunshine Tour,” her rep said in a statement to Deadline, citing “endless, ongoing public scrutiny” as the reason.

Find out what we know about Ariana’s break and what it means for her career below.

Does Ariana Grande Have Health Issues?

Ariana has not publicly disclosed any specific health condition. Fans have expressed concern about her appearance throughout the Eternal Sunshine Tour and again after the release of her Petal music video on July 31, 2026. Her rep’s statement noted that Ariana is performing “healthily and successfully” on tour. Ariana has addressed commentary about her body in the past, including a 2023 TikTok in which she asked fans to “be gentler and less comfortable commenting on people’s bodies.” She has not directly responded to the latest wave of speculation. Did Ariana Grande Cancel Her Tour?

No. The Eternal Sunshine Tour is still on and will run through 41 total shows, ending at London’s O2 Arena on September 1, 2026. The tour kicked off on June 6 in Oakland, California, and Ariana has continued performing, including three scheduled shows in Chicago this week at the United Center. What she did step away from is Sunday in the Park with George, a West End revival of the Stephen Sondheim musical that was set to open at the Barbican in summer 2027 opposite Jonathan Bailey. Empire Street Productions confirmed her exit and said the production will move forward with new casting. Ariana also exited American Horror Story season 13 in July 2026, per Variety.

Why Is Ariana Grande Stepping Back From Public Life?

Ariana Grande speaks out about her decision to take a break from her professional career during the first night of her tour in Chicago:

At her August 3 Chicago concert, Ariana addressed the news directly from the stage. “The announcement that was made yesterday was not a reactive or impulsive thing,” she told the crowd, per Variety. “It is something that I had decided to plan that I had quietly made a long time ago, and it’s a decision that was made from a thoughtful and empowered place.” She pushed back on the idea that negativity had driven her away, telling fans their worry was “not what that is.” She added that “boundaries, they need to be set” and “no matter what noises exist out there, nothing will ever be able to distort my reality.” HL has a full breakdown of why Ariana is stepping back here.

Ariana’s eighth studio album, Petal, dropped on July 31, 2026, with lead single “Hate That I Made You Love Me” debuting at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100.
