    ‘Warfare,’ ‘Pillion’ Crews Nab 2025 BIFA Craft Awards

    Warfare, Pillion and Die, My Love are among this year’s British Independent Film Awards (BIFA) craft category winners.

    The craft winners were announced by BIFA on Thursday in partnership with Letterboxd. British star Susan Wokoma joined Letterboxd’s Ella Kemp and BIFA podcast host Karis Aldridge at One Hundred Shoreditch to reveal the 2025 winners and celebrate craft in the creative industries.

    Alex Garland and Ray Mendoza’s visceral Navy SEAL drama Warfare added to its best ensemble performance BIFA with three craft wins: best editing for Fin Oates, best effects for Simon Stanley-Clamp and Ryan Conder, and best sound for Glenn Freemantle, Mitch Low, Howard Bargroff, Ben Barker and Richard Spooner.

    Seamus McGarvey has won best cinematography for Die My, Love, with Raife Burchell and Ian Neil scooping best music supervision on Lynne Ramsay’s Jennifer Lawrence-led feature.

    Harry Lighton’s debut feature Pillion took two awards: best costume design for Grace Snell, and best make-up & hair design for Diandra Ferreira.

    Elsewhere, Tom Basden and Adem Ilhan have won best original music for their work on The Ballad of Wallis Island, and best casting goes to Lauren Evans for I Swear.

    Nathan Parker takes home best production design for his work on Athina Rachel Tsangari’s folk horror Harvest.

    Akinola Davies Jr’s Nigeria-set My Father’s Shadow leads this year’s BIFA nominations, with additional nods in the performance categories for Jennifer Lawrence, Harry Melling, Cillian Murphy, David Jonsson, Tom Blyth and Robert Aramayo. The winners of all remaining categories will be announced at the BIFA ceremony on Nov. 30.
