Producer Demanded ‘Compromise’

Recently, Niki has again found her name in the headlines for her serious allegations against a famous producer. The actress alleged that while working on her debut film Mr. Azaad, Pahlaj Nihalani asked her to ‘compromise’ with the distributors.

Tortured On The Set

Niki also revealed that she was mentally tortured on the sets of Mr. Azaad (1994), which also had Anil Kapoor in the lead role. “I felt very uncomfortable. I wasn’t treated nicely during Azaad,” she said in an interview.

Young Star’s Ordeal

While telling her story, Niki said, “Whatever I learned technically during that shoot is my wealth, but what I learned outside of the shoot, during rehearsals and promotions, I understood that all these things I can’t do. I was only 19 at that time.”

Dinner Demand Exposed

Niki said that when she tried to confront Pahlaj Nihalani about her frequent dinners, he tried to justify his action by saying it is important for a producer to sell his movie to distributors. “I actually went and told Pahlaj ji, ‘Why do you take me for these dinners?’ And he told me, ‘Picture nahi bechni hai kya?’” added Niki Aneja.
