While the show is a comedy show and is loved by all, there are many controversies around the show as well. A lot of actors who have been a part of the show have made a few allegations against the makers. The recent allegation was made by Palak Sindhwani who played the role of Sonu.
Palak Sindhwani aka Sonu Bhide of Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah shocked all when said that the makers were making her exit from the show difficult. In a statement, she had mentioned that she decided to exit the show due to health issues and growth but it came after she was blamed her of breaching the contract. Now, in an interview with entertainment news site Etimes, Asit Modi has reacted to all the controversy around the show. About Palak Sindhwani, Asit Modi said that he felt hurt because he thinks of Palak as his daughter. He mentioned that he feels emotional whenever an actor leaves the show as he considers all of them as family. But he does not hold anything against anyone as his goal is to make an entertaining show. Even about delayed payment allegations made by a few actors against the makers, Asit Modi said that all the actors are paid on time. He also added that whenever an actor has asked for leaves, the stars have been granted the same.

After the makers accused Palak Sidhwani of breaching the contract, she shared an official statement narrating her side of story. In a statement, Palak Sidhwani denied all the allegations made by the makers and rather said that it is only after she tendered her resignation that the makers made her exit difficult. In an interview with Bombay Times, she explained that the makers were aware about her brand endorsements and more. And for five years, no action was taken. But when she decided to resign, she was served with notice. She was further quoted saying, “This is exploitation and I never expected this after working with them for five years. Just because I want to quit Taarak Mehta, they are making my exit difficult.”
