The first part of Kalki 2898 AD introduced the characters and plot of the film that is set in dystopian future. Prabhas plays the role of Bhairava who is a bounty hunter. As per a report in Hindustan Times, Nag Ashwin in a live chat with fans revealed how many years it will take for the second part to release. He shared that it will take almost three years for Kalki 2898 AD part 2 to hit the screens. Meanwhile, producer Ashwini Dutt shared that the release date of second part has not been finalised yet. Ashwini shared that 60 percent of the work on Kalki 2898 AD part 2 is complete, however, some major portions are yet to be shot. It was Kamal Haasan who got all the fans more excited for Kalki 2898 AD part 2. In one of the press meets, the actor stated that he would have more of a role in the second part. He was quoted saying, “In Kalki, I played a smaller part that appears for just a few minutes. My true involvement in the film is just beginning, and I’ll have a much larger role in the second part. So, I watched this film as a fan and I was astonished.” In the film, Kamal Haasan plays the role of Yaskin who is the ruler of the last-city in the Kali Yug. The story revolves around Project K whom he is overlooking. Prabhas who plays the role of Bhairava is a bounty hunter who wants an entry into the Complex. His way to Complex is by capturing Sumathi played by Deepika Padukone.
