Even after four years of his passing, the memory of Kannada legend Puneeth Rajkumar remains alive in the hearts of fans. A nostalgic photo of him with his father, Dr. Rajkumar, from their 1988 trip to Niagara Falls, has resurfaced, moving admirers to tears.
Today (October 29) is the fourth anniversary of the passing of Puneeth Rajkumar, who was a superstar in the Kannada film industry. He had a heart attack in 2021 and his die-hard fans still hold him close to their hearts with very warm and lovely memories. The loyal fans who are from all over the world are posting about him and sharing his old pictures and videos on social media as a way of tribute. By this occasion, a rare vintage photo of Puneeth Rajkumar has again come to light which shows him taken with his father the legendary actor Dr. Rajkumar.

The year is 1988 when this photo has been taken, on the trip to Niagara Falls by Puneeth with his father. He shared this picture a month before his death on Instagram. He wrote with the picture, “Those sweet moments spent with Appaji at Niagara Falls in 1988, still sweet memories.” He also shared in that post how as a kid he went with his father during the Gokak movement—a significant movement for Kannada language rights in the 1980s.
On his fourth death anniversary today, the fans went back to that old post and shared their feelings through the comments. A lot of people said, “Puneeth will forever be Appu in our hearts.” One of the fans wrote, “inspiration that one looks up to seek greater goals and create impact.” The name of the superstar is still on the top of the social media list, and people are reminiscing about his kindness and laughter.

A special tribute was paid to Puneeth Rajkumar earlier this month too. The production team of his still unreleased movie, Marigalu, presented a special teaser where with the help of AI and animation technology, Puneeth was animated as Mayur Sharma—the founder of the Kadamba dynasty. The scene, which was told by actor Dhananjay, touched the audience.
