Amazon‘s Prime Video unveiled two major European content deals in France and Spain on Wednesday, following Tuesday’s news that it had signed multiyear carriage agreements offering HBO Max as an add-on subscription in Italy, Germany, and Austria.
Starting immediately, Prime members in France can access M6 Group’s streaming service M6+, which offers programming from the M6, W9, 6ter, and Gulli channels, live or on demand, free of charge. In total, more than 30,000 hours of content are becoming available on Prime Video via the deal, which also includes exclusive M6+ content. Financial terms weren’t disclosed.
The agreement brings such entertainment programming to Prime as local The Traitors series Les Traîtres, L’Amour est dans le pré, Qui veut être mon associé?, Mariés au premier regard, Pékin Express, and Top Chef, such reality series as C’est la famille, L’Île de la tentation, and Les Cinquante, documentaries and news programs, and such major sporting events as the 2026 FIFA World Cup of soccer and the Super Bowl.
“We are very pleased to welcome M6’s quality programming to Prime Video,” said Elisabetta Carruba, director, Prime Video channels, Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA). “The addition of M6 content to our service is an important step in our goal of becoming the number 1 entertainment destination for our customers.”
David Larramendy, chairman of the M6 Group executive board, highlighted: “This agreement boosts the visibility of our brands and allows us to reach additional audiences.” He added: “It is a key step in our strategy: it improves the accessibility of our content and demonstrates our commitment to building a streaming ecosystem adapted to new uses in a fragmented consumption environment. This partnership also consolidates the coverage of our offering marketed by M6 Unlimited and increases the value we bring to our customers.”
Meanwhile, in Spain, Prime Video unveiled what it called “a landmark agreement” with national public broadcaster RTVE to distribute its channels. “Starting today, Prime members in Spain will be able to access live broadcasts from La 1, La 2, Canal 24H, Clan, and Teledeporte at no additional cost,” the company said. “This agreement offers Spanish viewers a convenient way to discover and enjoy RTVE’s diverse programming directly through the Prime Video service with a dedicated section in the Live TV home page.”
Among RTVE’s flagship programming coming to Prime is sports coverage, news and current affairs programming, such entertainment shows as Hasta el fin del mundo, MasterChef, La Revuelta, and La Promesa, cultural and documentary programming, and such children’s programming as Peppa Pig, Momonster, and Los Lunnis.
