The 2026 awards race has officially reached Ireland.

Jessie Buckley, Daniel Day-Lewis and Cillian Murphy are among the top stars nominated at the Irish Film & TV Awards (IFTA) this year ahead of the Feb. 14 ceremony at Dublin’s Royal Convention Centre.

Buckley is recognized for her gut-wrenching performance in Chloe Zhao’s Shakespeare drama Hamnet, as is her co-star Paul Mescal. She’ll be competing against Carolyn Bracken (Horseshoe), Carrie Crowley (Aontas), Fionna Flanagan (Four Mothers), Eleanor O’Brien (Báite) and Fiona Shaw (Hot Milk).

Hamnet is also up for best international film at the 21st IFTAs, alongside Bugonia, One Battle After Another, Palestine ’36, Sentimental Value and Sinners.

Elsewhere, Day-Lewis scores a nod for his starring role in Anemone, directed by his son Ronan. Murphy is nominated for his performance in Tim Mielants’ school-set Steve. Steve Coogan (Saipan), Colin Farrell (Ballad of a Small Player), Éanna Hardwicke (Saipan) and Daniel Power (Christy) round out the category.

Brendan Canty’s Christy leads IFTA’s film nominations with 14 in total — including for best film, best director, and acting nods for Power, Emma Willis, and Jamie Forde. The movie follows two estranged brothers in Cork, who are forced to reconnect with one another.

On the TV side, Anthony Guinness is nominated for Netflix’s House of Guinness, as is former Game of Thrones star Jack Gleeson. And Saltburn‘s Alison Oliver landed a nod for HBO’s Task.
