Ishitta Arun LOSES her calm at trolls for... says, 'Grief isn't a...'

The daughter of Ila Arun, actress Ishitta Arun, is undergoing a lot of criticism after a video of her went viral, where she can be seen smiling at her uncle, Piyush Pandey’s funeral that took place in Mumbai. The advertising giant passed away at the age of 70, on Friday, October 24, 2025. Friends and family were gathered to remember Pandey. Netizens criticize the actress; however, she has now replied to the trolls, saying that merely celebrating the memory of her uncle with laughter is not a disrespectful act. She took to her Instagram on October 26 and wrote, “Grief isn’t a single script. And when you’re saying goodbye to a man who laughed louder than anyone else, remembering him through laughter isn’t disrespect. It’s continuity. It’s muscle memory. It’s knowing who he really was.”

    What did Ishitta say?

She also mentioned how the trolls ‘took time out of their empty lives to twist a single second’ of the video going viral. “What you saw was us laughing at his line—a line only he could deliver. If you had known him, even in passing, you wouldn’t have needed this explained.” She added.

She then ended with, “We don’t stage grief. We don’t mute memory to make strangers comfortable. We remember him honestly—as laughter, courage, and life itself. Next time—know the story before you comment on the moment.”

    Ishitta remembers Piyush

Earlier, after Piyush’s demise, Ishitta had shared a heartwarming post on Instagram, where she talked about her sweet memories of her uncle. She talked about how it was her mother who realized that Piyush’s talent was being wasted in Calcutta and asked him to come to Mumbai. She then also mentioned how in the first five years of his moving, Piyush lived with Ila and her husband.

She captioned the post as “For the man who taught me that life, like cricket, is best played—fearless and always on the front foot. Haan Bhai! Mama loves you! Your roomie for life.”

    Who was Piyush Pandey

Piyush Pandey was an advertising legend who was responsible for some of India’s most iconic ad campaigns, like Luna Moped, Fevicol, Cadbury, and Asian Paints. His legacy will always be remembered and appreciated.
