The year 2024 ended with a big Hindi movie releasing in theatres – Baby John. Starring Varun Dhawan, it was one of the most-anticipated releases of last year. Directed by Kalees, the film was a remake of Atlee’s Theri, which is quite popular. The original Tamil film stars Vijay in the lead role. Along with Varun, the Hindi film also stars Jackie Shroff, Keerthy Suresh, and Wamiqa Gabbi. When the Hindi film was released in theatres, it mostly received negative reviews. Even the audience didn’t show up as expected for Varun’s film. Hence, it failed to perform well at the box office.
Rajpal Yadav on Baby John’s failure
Rajpal Yadav, who plays a key role in Kalees-directed film was asked about the film flopping at the box office. The actor said in an interview that if the film wasn’t a remake, it would have been the most well-made movies in 25 years of his career. However, as Thalapathy Vijay already did Theri and the audience has seen it, the box office collection of the remake was affected. In the movie, Yadav plays Constable Ram Sevak.
Further in this entertainment news, Rajpal Yadav was asked if Varun Dhawan was depressed by Baby John failing at the box office. The actor clarified that it’s nothing like that and told Bollywood Bubble, “Varun is such a sweet boy, very hardworking. He has always tried to do something different, and his attempts must be appreciated because it’s a big deal to take risks.”
Last year, Rajpal Yadav also appeared in one of the superhits of 2024, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3. On the other hand, Varun Dhawan has three big movies in his hands: Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari, Bhediya 2, and Border 2. There were also reports that he will have a special appearance in Ayushmann Khurrana and Rashmika Mandanna’s Thama.
