She and her mother, Shobha Kapoor have been entertaining the audience since a long time. They recently landed in trouble as a case is registered against them under the POCSO Act related to ALT Balaji’s web series Gandi Baat. The case was filed for showing obscene scenes of juvenile girls in their web show, Gandi Baat 6. The said controversial episode is not currently streaming on ALT Balaji app. They were questioned by Mumbai Police on October 22 and were booked under POCSO Act.
Ektaa Kapoor and Shobha Kapoor issue statement
Now, Ekta Kapoor and Shobha Kapoor have issued a statement about this. The statement says that Ektaa Kapoor and her mother are not involved in the day-to-day operations of ALT Digital Media Entertainment LTD. The statement read, “With reference to various media reports regarding the web series “Gandi Baat, “ALT Digital Media Entertainment LTD. (“company”) hereby clarifies that it is fully compliant with all applicable laws, including the POCSO Act, and any references to the company’s engagement of minors are entirely incorrect.”
