The Terror Report, starring Ekta Kapoor, joins the high-stakes trend of terror and patriotism, emerging as Bollywood’s new blockbuster standard.

Bollywood Terror & Patriotic Films Trend

Stories about terrorism, national security, and patriotism have established a potent narrative niche in the Hindi film industry. Bollywood’s new blockbuster mantra is terror-driven patriotic thrillers, as evidenced by the consistently strong box-office performances of films over the past few years that address India’s geopolitical realities, cross-border tensions, and actual national security operations.

The popularity of movies like Raazi, Kesari, Uri: The Surgical Strike, and Article 370 showed that people are devoted to narratives that blend cinematic intensity with national relevance. In terms of views and reviews, even the digitally distributed Shershaah was a huge success.

This momentum has been strengthened more recently with powerful patriotic thrillers like Dhurandhar and Dhurandhar 2, which have produced previously unheard-of, historic numbers.

    The Terror Report: Plot

In light of this, Ekta Kapoor’s Balaji Telefilms, in association with Tanuj Garg’s Ellipsis Entertainment and seasoned news reporter Sudhir Chaudhary, has announced a massive political thriller called “The Terror Report.” The most important cross-border terror incidents that rocked India between 1998 and 2025—including the most recent Pahalgam attacks—will be chronicled in this fact-based movie.
