Popular Punjabi singer-actor Diljit Dosanjh recentlay released his latest track Kufar from the upcoming 2025 album Aura on October 14. The much anticipated song, ended up creating quite a controversy for the singer, a particular scene in the music video has sparked mixed online reactions and not for the right reasons.
What was the Yoga-Inspired Choreography?
In the music video, Manushi Chhillar is seen leading a group of dancers through a routine which is inspired by yoga. She’s seen wearing a pink lace jumpsuit and feathered boots, performing poses like leg raises (Uttanpadasana) and other one-legged stretches.
However, the presentation hasn’t gone down well with many viewers. Several social media users claim the sequence ‘sexualises’ yoga, which they say is disrespectful to its cultural and spiritual roots.

After the clip went viral on Reddit, the criticism poured in. Manushi Chhillar Responds To The Criticism
When asked about her limited role in the video and the backlash, Manushi Chhillar didn’t shy away. She responded: “I’ve always admired people who value education. But I’ve also learnt that wisdom lies in respecting every form of art and expression. The world needs both thinkers and creators; neither is ‘reduced’ when they uplift others.”
