Released during a festival, the film received a strong response from audiences. Bookings were strong on the first day, and theaters recorded a strong opening. Idli Kadai, released in Tamil and Telugu, had a strong opening day. According to Sacnilk, the film earned a total net collection of approximately Rs 10.35 crore in India on its first day. Of this, Rs 10.35 crore came from the Tamil version and Rs 0.65 crore from the Telugu version. The film’s earnings declined slightly on the second day, but audience interest remained intact. On the second day, the film grossed Rs 9.75 crore, with Rs 9 crore coming from Tamil and Rs 0.75 crore from Telugu. The film’s total Indian collection over two days was Rs 20.75 crore, while globally, it grossed approximately Rs 25 crore.

Idli Kadai maintained its hold in theaters on the third day. According to initial reports in Sacnilk, the film earned Rs 5.50 crore on the third day. This brings the film’s total India net collection to Rs 26.25 crore in three days. Although industry experts had expected higher earnings on the third day, collections are expected to rise again in the coming days after the festival season.
