The Gucci ambassador BTS Jin just landed yesterday, September 22, in Italy, greeted by cheering fans who, instead of the usual chaos, lined up in an orderly fashion with purple ribbons. The Purple Ribbon Project, revived at V’s request during a livestream earlier this year, was in full swing. It wasn’t just a welcome, it was a way to show respect and ensure the artist’s safety . Jin was clearly touched by this initiative as he waved and smiled as he walked past.
BTS ARMY brings back Purple Ribbon Project
The people who’ve been BTS fans for a while know that the Purple Ribbon Project isn’t new. It was first introduced by ARMY in May 2018 at the Los Angeles International Airport to avoid dangerous stampedes during the group’s appearances.

The premise of Purple Ribbon Project is simple, fans hold purple ribbons to form a barrier, giving the artists space to walk through the crowd while still showing support. At Milan’s airport, Jin’s bodyguards worked smoothly with the fans’ arrangement. No mess, no pushing, just organized cheers. While some fans said the reason for discontinuing the purple ribbon project was because the fans shouldnt be at the airport and give the artists space. One such fan posted, “The Purple Ribbon Project was discontinued because ARMY SHOULD NOT BE AT THE AIRPORT. So instead of making the Tannies wonder why the project stopped, just DON’T GO TO THE AIRPORT. That way, they can freely pose for the media without the risk of being mobbed. It’s that simple.”
