BIGHIT Music has announced strict legal action against online harassment, hate speech, and even attempted break-ins targeting BTS. The agency reaffirmed its zero-tolerance policy, stressing that all unlawful acts, from defamation to stalking, will face prosecution.

On September 29, BIGHIT Music shared an update on the legal actions it has taken to protect BTS from malicious behavior, including online harassment and privacy breaches. The company emphasized its ongoing commitment to shielding the members from harmful activities by saesangs and haters.
Legal Procedures Against Online Harassment
According to the agency, legal steps have been initiated against individuals and groups responsible for harmful posts targeting BTS. The measures come after continuous monitoring of domestic and international platforms, along with reports from fans.
Platforms Under Review
BIGHIT Music revealed that it has been tracking malicious activity across multiple platforms. This includes Korean music services like Melon, Bugs Music, and Genie Music, as well as community forums such as Naver, Daum, Nate, TheQoo, and DC Inside. Social media sites including X, Instagram, and YouTube are also under scrutiny.
Zero-Tolerance Policy
The agency stressed that even anonymous posts can face legal consequences. Defamation, spreading false information, slander, and hate speech are punishable under current laws such as the Act on Promotion of Information and Communications Network Utilization and Information Protection. BIGHIT reaffirmed its zero-tolerance approach and confirmed that some cases from last year have already been handed to prosecutors.
Ongoing Investigations
BIGHIT explained that several complaints filed this year are still under investigation, with suspects being questioned. In certain cases, warrants have been issued to ensure proper accountability.
Break-Ins and Privacy Violations
The statement also revealed concerning incidents of attempted break-ins at BTS members’ residences. BIGHIT is actively working with law enforcement to investigate these cases, compile evidence, and file reports. Some of these matters have already reached prosecutors.
The agency reminded the public that trespassing, stalking, leaking personal information, or even loitering near the members’ homes are unlawful actions that cause severe emotional distress. BIGHIT reinforced its commitment to protecting BTS’s safety and privacy through all legal means available.
