Red overwhelmingly won the 2025 Emmys as the night’s dominant color trend on the red carpet — make no mistake, black gowns were seen in far greater numbers, but the women who opted for crimson looks innately understand how the color that symbolizes power in fashion creates an instant look-at-me moment.

From Selena Gomez to Cristin Milioti, Mariska Hargitay to Sydney Sweeney, red was the night’s statement hue and befitting of the powerful women who wore it. Ultimately, each proved to be infinitely more memorable than the sea of black gowns that sometimes faded into the Emmys‘ equally black step-and-repeat backdrop.

If there was any poignant moment about the 2025 Emmys red carpet, it surely was in the women who chose to wore gowns by the late Giorgio Armani, the legendary designer who died Sept. 4. Kristen Bell, a presenter and first-time nominee for Nobody Wants This, chose a beaded black and white gown with a deep open back, from Armani’s Fall 2024 Privé collection. Keri Russell, Anna Sawai and Molly Gordon likewise chose to honor Mr. Armani by wearing his designs.

Overall, the men seen on the red carpet at the Peacock Theater at L.A. Live acquitted themselves well in beautifully tailored tuxedos, sometimes accented with forward-thinking details, including the jeweled fringe on Colman Domingo’s Valentino suit or the print of Chris Perfetti’s Tanner Fletcher tuxedo. 2025 Emmys host Nate Bargatze appeared on the red carpet in a Canali tux with a Breguet watch — he later changed into a denim suit for a joke that never landed, leaving style pundits to wonder why he made the change.

Among such a wide array of terrific looks at the 2025 Emmys, here are 15 that stood out:

    Selena Gomez in Louis Vuitton

Bride watch is at maximum frenzy for Selena Gomez fans, who’ve been speculating about every Saturday on the calendar since, well, she and fiancé Benny Blanco, who joined her on the 2025 Emmys red carpet, got engaged last December. Gomez looked every inch a radiant woman in red, an asymmetric halter gown with a draped collar and train that was a custom look by Louis Vuitton. Gomez completed the look with Tiffany & Co. jewels, including earrings in platinum and yellow gold and embellished with diamonds and enhanced rubies, and Santoni’s Virna sandals.

Chase Sui Wonders in Thom Browne

Structured designs ruled the night on the Emmys red carpet, and among the best was this corset gown by Thom Browne, worn by The Studio’s Chase Sui Wonders. The actress joked during the pre-show that, while she loved her dress, the corset lacing was a bit tight: “I can’t quite breathe, and my intestines may have rearranged.” Her smile, however, said otherwise. Wonders also wore Tiffany & Co. jewels, including the house’s Bird on a Rock earrings, which featured green tourmalines totaling more than 12 carats.

    Cristin Milioti in Danielle Frankel

She’s won raves among critics and fans alike for her work on HBO’s The Penguin, and during the Emmys pre-show, Cristin Milioti credited her character, Sofia Falcone, calling the color choice of her strapless gown by New York-based designer Danielle Frankel “an homage” — and it ultimately was a good luck charm, as Milioti took home the Emmy for best actress in a limited series. She completed her look with an Omega watch.

    Lisa Manoban in Lever Couture

Amid the parade of structured gowns, The White Lotus‘ Lisa Manoban smartly chose a look that was breezy and ethereal. Her pink organza gown is by LeVer Couture, created by Ukrainian-born, Los Angeles-based designer Lessja Verlingieri, which she paired with Bulgari high jewelry and shoes by Christian Louboutin.

    Jenna Ortega in Givenchy

A cascade of oversized jewels formed Jenna Ortega’s high-neck, skin-baring top, paired with a sleek black skirt with high slit and both designed by Givenchy by Sarah Burton. Ortega completed her look with jewels from Pomellato’s Nudo collection and platform sandals by Christian Louboutin.

    Brett Goldstein in Brioni

Dapper is a perfect way to describe Brett Goldstein’s 2025 Emmys look, a navy double-breasted wool and silk evening jacket, white cotton evening shirt and black tuxedo trousers, all by Brioni. Goldstein completed his look with Hublot’s Classic Fusion Titanium 38mm watch.

    Michelle Monaghan in Rabanne

The White Lotus star channeled a look that felt equal parts vintage and modern, a custom silver metallic gown by Rabanne creative director Julien Dossena. Monaghan accessorized the look with Rabanne’s Iconic Silver 1969 Nano bag and diamond jewels by De Beers.

Like Kristen Bell and Anna Sawai, Leslie Bibb chose to wear a couture gown by Giorgio Armani. “It was from his last Privé collection, and I’m so excited that I’m able to wear it,” she said during the pre-show. Bibb accented her gown with Cartier jewels and Rodo shoes. Rockwell, meanwhile, exuded ultra-classic style in a tuxedo by Saint Laurent by Anthony Vaccarello and a Vacheron Constantin’s Historiques American 1921 watch in pink gold.

    Michelle Williams in Chanel

Nominated for her role in Dying for Sex, Michelle Williams wore a vintage Chanel one-shoulder gown that seemed to float on the carpet, crafted in a supremely pale pink silk embellished with pearls. Her jewelry likewise was by Chanel, including her No. 5 high jewelry Drop necklace, crafted in diamonds set in 18-karat white gold.

    Tyler James Williams in Prada

It’s rumored that image architect Law Roach is now working with Tyler James Williams, and if true and this is the result, the partnership is off to a terrific start. At the 2025 Emmys, Williams wore Prada, a black double-breasted mohair tuxedo with black poplin shirt, black satin bowtie and black leather lace-up shoes. The actor’s look was finished with jewels and a watch by Tiffany & Co., including the Jean Schlumberger by Tiffany & Co. Bird on a Rock brooch, which highlighted a tanzanite of 52-plus carats, set in 18-karat yellow gold and platinum.

    Aimee Lou Wood in McQueen

Pink and red is a coveted color combination among couture fans, while it also exudes a playful air — all of which makes it perfect for Aimee Lou Wood, who became a favorite of White Lotus fans during the Thailand-set third season. Her satin ankle-length gown with train is by McQueen by Seán McGirr, which Wood wore with diamond and gold jewels by David Yurman and pink satin “Love” pumps by Jimmy Choo.

    Alan Cumming in Tanner Fletcher

A double Emmy winner this year for The Traitors, Alan Cumming often wears Tanner Fletcher, the Brooklyn-based label known for its forward-thinking, genderless designs. Both his black tuxedo and shirt were offset with white piping — and then he changed into an oversized blue-gray bow blouse in time to accept his Emmy for outstanding reality host. Cumming accented his tuxedo jacket with a charm-accented kilt pink by U.K.-based Tatty Devine.

Kristen Bell in Giorgio Armani Privé

    Katherine LaNasa in Jason Wu

A 2025 Emmy winner for best supporting actress in a drama for The Pitt, Katherine LaNasa noted on the red carpet that Jason Wu designed the bow on her gown in the ceil blue that’s closely associated with nursing, while overall the look is meant to convey a Grace Kelly vibe. She finished the look with jewels by Fred Leighton.

Tramell Tillman in Dolce & Gabbana

Tramell Tillman’s Emmy win for Severance made history, and he did it in a custom look by Dolce & Gabbana. His white double-breasted tuxedo jacket and double pleated pants was worn with a poplin tuxedo shirt, white bowtie and patent calfskin boots. Tillman completed his look with Boucheron’s Serpent Bohème XXL diamond and white gold necklace, which the actor wore as a brooch.
