AR Rahman and Saira Banu get separated
As reported by several entertainment news portals,AR Rahman’s ex-wife Saira Banu’s lawyers have released an official statement today. Her lawyer, Advocate Vandana Shah and Associates, is representing her. The statement mentions how the couple has been facing emotional challenges for quite some time in their married life.
“After many years of marriage, Mrs. Saira has made the difficult decision to separate from her husband Mr. A R. Rahman. This decision comes after significant emotional strain in their relationship. Despite their deep love for each other, the couple has found that the tensions and difficulties have created an insurmountable gap between them, one that neither party feels able to bridge at this time,” a statement to India Today reads.
It further reads, “Mrs. Saira emphasised that she has taken this decision out of pain and agony. Mrs Saira requests privacy and understanding from the public during this challenging time, as she navigates this difficult chapter in her life.”
AR Rahman and Saira Banu have been married for 29 years now. The duo tied the knot in 1995 and it was an arranged marriage. The duo has two daughters, Khatija and Rahima, and a son named Ameen Rahman.
