Anurag Kashyap reveals why he is scared to make a film with Shah Rukh Khan
In an interview with Humans of Cinema, Anurag Kashyap stated that he loves Shah Rukh Khan and especially his films Chak De India and Kabhie Haan Kabhie Naa. He also stated that while he is keen to make a film with the King Khan of Bollywood, he is scared to do so. Emphasizing the reason behind it, the filmmaker mentioned he is scared of SRK’s fans. He stated that it’s very difficult to cater to the needs of a superstar’s fans. Anurag said that fans of superstars often want to see their idol in a specific type of film and role, due to which the actor also gets typecast.
However, he has his own flavor and genre of cinema, and he is not a filmmaker who will mold a film as per audience taste. Anurag states that if, god forbid, fans don’t like the different avatar he presents an actor, the repercussions of what happen can cost everyone a lot. He then mentions that he doesn’t have the capacity to cater to Shah Rukh’s aura or enigma. He then states if Shah Rukh Khan’s film “Fan,” whose story was a bit unique and even the actor was presented on screen in a different form, would have worked, he would surely have the courage to make a film with him.
