Publicist issues statement
While the cause of death has not been revealed, a statement issued by publicist Cindi Berger read, Robert Redford passed away on September 16 at his home at Sundance in the mountains of Utah – the place he loved, surrounded by those he loved. He will be missed greatly. The family requests privacy, as reported by BBC.

Robert Redford was a part of the entertainment industry for nearly seven decades. He started his acting career with Alfred Hitchcock Presents and The Twilight Zone. He then marked his film debut in 1962 with the movie War Hunt.
