Top Class Franchise Expands Into Tennis at Amazon

Amazon continues to push into the world of tennis.

With the debut of its Roger Federer doc, Twelve Final Days, coming this month, the retailer-streamer has ordered a new installment of the Top Class franchise that will explore the world of junior tennis.

Uninterrupted’s Top Class Tennis will follow four junior tennis players as they make their way to the Orange Bowl, a competition that could make our break their careers as tennis pros. The four-episode series counts 2017 U.S. Open champion Sloane Stephens among its exec producers.

The series hails from Uninterrupted and LeBron James and Maverick Carter’s SpringHill Co., with Jamal Henderson, Philip Byron, Wendy Goldberg and showrunner Nikki Spetseris also exec producing.

“Uninterrupted is thrilled for the opportunity to expand our Top Class franchise after documenting the Sierra Canyon men’s basketball team for four seasons,” said Byron, head of unscripted and documentaries at SpringHill. “Our partnership with the Prime Video team is always a joy, and we can’t wait for audiences to get a courtside look into the cutthroat world of junior tennis. Getting to work with Sloane Stephens on the creative side is akin to having the best doubles partner in the world, and we know everyone is going to be rooting for Ariana Anazagasty-Pursoo, Joseph Oyebog Jr., Stephanie Yakoff and Stiles Brockett to take the global tennis scene by storm.”

SpringHill’s Uninterrupted banner focuses on giving athletes a platform to share their stories and has been increasingly prolific as streamers continue to push into sports-adjacent programming. The banner recently sold The Real Stories of Basketball to Vice as well as docs about Jesse Owens and Jim Thorpe for History Channel and is working on a sequel to the feature Game Changers, among others.

Top Class, The Life and Times of the Sierra Canyon Trailblazers debuted in 2021 on Amazon. The fourth season of the series launched earlier this year.
