    Leonardo DiCaprio is back on the big screen with a gritty action drama that is keeping the movie makers busy now.     One Battle After Another at the worldwide box office in its first week

    According to Box Office Mojo‘s records, Leonardo DiCaprio’s film collected a solid $22.00 million on its opening weekend at the box office in North America. It has entered its second weekend and is aiming for strong collections. It collected $2.17 million on its sixth day 6 at the domestic box office, bringing the total collection to $29.9 million.

    One Battle After Another rules at #1, dominating Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle and The Conjuring: Last Rites in the domestic box office rankings. Internationally, the anime movie has hit the $36.5 million cume and allied to the domestic total, the worldwide collection is $66.4 million.

    Surpasses the lifetime collection of Steven Spielberg’s Empire of the Sun

    Empire of the Sun is a war drama released in 1987 based on JG Ballard’s novel of the same name. It collected $22.2 million at the worldwide box office in its lifetime. According to reports, Steven Spielberg considers Empire of the Sun to be his most powerful reflection on innocence lost. Leonardo DiCaprio‘s action drama surpassed the lifetime of Steven Spielberg’s film in its opening weekend only.

    For the unversed, Christian Bale played the lead character in the film. He plays Jim, a young boy who goes from living with his wealthy British family in Shanghai to becoming a prisoner of war in an internment camp operated by the Japanese during World War II.

    The story follows Bob, a burned-out revolutionary living in paranoid isolation with his strong-willed, self-sufficient daughter, Willa. When his long-time nemesis resurfaces and Willa disappears, Bob is forced back into action, confronting old demons as both father and daughter struggle with the shadows of their past.
