Lori Loughlin and Mossimo Giannulli are taking some time apart from their marriage.

The actress and fashion designer, who share daughters Olivia Jade Giannulli and Isabella Rose Giannulli, have been married for nearly 28 years after they tied the knot in November 1997.

“They are living apart and taking a break from their marriage. There are no legal proceedings at this time,” Loughlin’s rep, Elizabeth Much, confirmed in a statement with The Hollywood Reporter.

Their separation comes years after their involvement in the 2019 headline-making college admission scandal, which included a nationwide FBI investigation into William “Rick” Singer, who was accused of being paid large amounts of money to fraudulently inflate children’s test scores and bribe college officials for their admission.

Loughlin and Giannulli both pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit fraud in connection with the case in 2020. The Full House alum served two months in prison that same year and Giannulli served five months.

Last year, during an interview with First for Women, the actress opened up about learning from her past mistakes, though she didn’t directly address the scandal. “Every day, we’re met with different obstacles. But, for me, it’s like that song says, ‘I get knocked down, but I get up again,’” she said at the time. “Nobody said life was going to be a breeze; we all make mistakes, but the important thing is to persevere.”

“I didn’t grow up in a household where if you made a mistake, you weren’t forgiven,” Loughlin added. “No one is perfect, we all make mistakes. So I was always told to let stuff go. And I think for your own health, you have to let things go, because you can’t hang on to negativity. Life’s too short.”

Loughlin is best known for her role as Aunt Becky in Full House and its reboot, Fuller House. She’s also starred in When Calls the Heart, Summerland and several Hallmark Channel Original Movies.

People magazine was first to report the news of Loughlin and Giannulli’s separation.
