The diva who is now a popular starkid is the daughter of one of the biggest superstars known in the history of South film industry. He is among the most versatile stars who has only entertained the audiences by playing diverse roles over the years. But he also remained in the news because of his two controversial marriages and affairs.
The starkid in discussion is Shruti Haasan. Legendary star Kamal Haasan and Sarika’s daughter Shruti Haasan is now a known face in South as well as Bollywood. She has impressed many with her acting chops. But many a times, she has spoken about her equation with her father and how his stardom affected her. Apart from films, Kamal also remained in headlines in entertainment news, because of his two failed marriages and affairs.
Back in the days, Shruti Haasan had shared how her father’s stardom used to affect her. She once said that she changed her identity and name and used to pretend that she is not Kamal Haasan’s daughter. She was quoted saying, “People would constantly ask me about him, it was like all the time. I would feel like, I am Shruti, I want my own identity. People would point at me and say, ‘Hey, that’s Kamal’s daughter’. If anyone asked me, I would say, ‘No, my father is Dr Ramachandran’, it was our dentist’s name. ‘And I am Pooja Ramachandran’, a name I made up.”
Further the actress asserted that she knew that her father is famous and that he was different from anyone she has met. She added that she was brought up by two stubborn people and that it has rubbed on to her and her sister. Shruti Haasan added that she never liked living in Chennai after her parents separated as she found it difficult to separate from her father’s stardom. But today, she cannot imagine being without Kamal Haasan.
