The film Thamma has become one of the most talked-about films of the year. With Aditya Sarpotdar as its director and Maddock Films producing it, the movie has got an impressive and massive star cast of Ayushmann Khurrana, Rashmika Mandanna, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Paresh Rawal, and Varun Dhawan. The project had a great opening at the box office, getting strong profits in the first week, but its pace reduced a bit during the second week. The film raked in about Rs 24 crore from all languages on the very first day (Tuesday) of its release, with the major chunk being contributed by the Hindi crowd. The second day (Wednesday) witnessed a fall in its income to Rs 18.6 crore (around 22%). Throughout its first week, the film kept on showing varying figures getting Rs 13 crore (around Rs 10 crore) on Thursday, Rs13.1 crore (around Rs12.6 crore) on Sunday. Therefore, the film’s total earning in the Indian market during its first week amounted to Rs108.45 crore.

The second week opened with a bit of a lull. The film’s earnings on Monday stood at a mere Rs 4.3 crore, while Tuesday witnessed a very minor upward trend, bringing in Rs 5.75 crore. On Wednesday, there was yet another dip, with the collection going down to Rs 3.65 crore. The following day, the film’s earnings were close to Rs 3.39 crore. On the 11th day (Friday), the collection plunged to a mere Rs 3 crore. On the 12th day, Thamma earned Rs 1.52 crore, making the total to Rs 112.92 crore. Nonetheless, the industry tracker Sacnilk says that these figures are initial approximations and there may be slight adjustments when the official numbers are published.
Is Thamma most successful film of Ayushmann Khuranna’s careers?
Thamma is now considered one of the most successful movies for Ayushmann Khurrana. Ranking right behind Dream Girl (Rs 141.3 crore), Badhaai Ho (Rs 137.31 crore), and Bala (Rs 116.38 crore) , it’s among his highest-grossing films. Rashmika Mandanna’s career is the same way; the movie has been one of her biggest Hindi films, although Pushpa: The Rule Part 2 (Rs812.14 crore) is still her biggest hit. For Nawazuddin Siddiqui, the film has also become one of the most successful Hindi films of his career, surpassing Kahaani and Mom.
Thamma, in general, has been quite an attraction for the audience due to its solid storyline, great cast, and remarkable box office collection, even though the film’s brightness has reduced a little during its second week of run.
