Following the fire at the Eugene O’Neill Theatre on May 4 — home to The Book of Mormon on Broadway — the show has set a date to resume performances after being canceled through May 20.

“The work inside the theatre is being completed by an extraordinary team that has made tremendous progress,” a spokesperson for the production said in a statement. “On its current timeline, The Book of Mormon will resume performances on Thursday, May 21. ATG Entertainment and The Book of Mormon will keep audiences updated should anything change in the coming days. ATG Entertainment, who are the owners and operators of the O’Neill, and The Book of Mormon are extremely grateful to the FDNY and the Department of Buildings for their help and cooperation throughout the repair efforts.”

Per The Hollywood Reporter’s initial reporting, after the theater caught fire, the production said the building was safely cleared of personnel. However, one firefighter was injured while responding to the flame.

The satirical musical currently stars Kevin Clay as Elder Price, Diego Enrico as Elder Cunningham and Sydney Quildon as Nabulungi, with Charlie Franklin as Elder McKinley and Jacques C. Smith as Mafala Hatimbi. It won nine Tony Awards in 2011, including best musical. Andrew Rannells and Josh Gad starred in the original Broadway cast as Elder Price and Elder Cunningham, respectively.

To celebrate the show’s 15th anniversary, the Eugene O’Neill Theatre box office is set to reopen to the public on May 15 at 10:00 a.m. The first 50 people will have the opportunity to purchase up to two $15 tickets each for select performances throughout the summer.
