Two of the films participating in this competition are Director Keerthiswaran’s debut film Dude and Dhruv Vikram’s Bison Kaalamaadan. The ongoing rivalry between the movies makes the box office race even more interesting. Both the films were released on October 17, 2025, and are of two completely different genres. One is a romantic comedy, while the other is a coming-of-age sports drama. Regardless, they both are in a strong rivalry at the box office. Dude VS Bison Kaalamadaan Day 2 box office collection
As per the E-Trade website Sacnilk, Dude earned an estimated amount of Rs. 9.75 crore, which took its total earnings to Rs. 19.75 crore. The amount showed a slight dip as compared to the opening day; however, the film is expected to pick up some momentum over the Diwali weekend. When it comes to occupancy, Dude had an overall 55.43 percent occupancy in Tamil on Saturday.
On the other hand, as per Sacnilk, Bison Kaalamaadan minted around Rs. 3.00 Crore on day 2, which made the total earnings of the film to be around Rs. 5.55 crore. Bison, unlike Dude, actually had a small increase in the earnings of the films. This increase could be credited to the positive word of mouth being spread about the movie. Bison Kaalamadaan had around 39.85% Tamil occupancy on Saturday.

As clearly seen by the trends, Bison Kaalamadaan is slowly picking up momentum. The major reason for this might be the positive word of mouth that the film is getting. Bison Kaalamadaan is receiving a lot of acclaim and praise on social media, with netizens appreciating its strong plotline, which touches social issues with sensitivity, powerful performances, and traffic shock value.
Meanwhile, Dude is getting somewhat mixed reviews on the internet. While the youthful energy and vibe of the film are being praised, some netizens believe that they fail to see the film’s charm beyond the second half. Netizens are also appreciating the “Gen-Z” energy of the film but say that the execution falls flat.
It has just been 2 days since the release of the films, and the right estimate about both films’ overall performance can only be estimated after the first weekend passes. However, both the films are performing decently when compared to the genres and scales that they have been made on.
