Recently, all the rumours were flying that actress Deepika Padukone and director Farah Khan had a falling out. Reports even claimed the two had unfollowed each other on Instagram after Farah allegedly made a comment about Deepika wanting an 8-hour workday after becoming a mom. But now, both Deepika and Farah have cleared the air and it turns out, there was never any feud at all. It was just a made up controversy that was streched to no exntent for no reason. Farah Khan and Deepika Padukone’s reaction to the controversy just proved it yet again why online fueds are oftden nothing but things taken out of context by the genreal audience.
Farah Khan Sets the Record Straight
In a conversation with Pinkvilla, Farah explained that neither she nor Deepika ever followed each other on Instagram to begin with. She also revealed she was one of the first people to visit Deepika after the birth of her daughter, Dua Padukone Singh. Farah said, “Not everything is for Instagram or the paparazzi. Some things are just personal.”
She added that they’ve always had an understanding not to make their friendship public. “During the ‘Happy New Year’ shoot, we made a pact not to wish each other on Instagram. Deepika doesn’t like it. We message or call each other directly.”
What was Deepika’s Response?
Deepika responded to Farah’s clarification by commenting “Amen ?” on Pinkvilla’s Instagram post, shutting down the drama once and for all.
About the 8-Hour Workday Comment
Farah also explained the viral comment about Deepika’s work hours. “It was just a light-hearted joke I made to my cook, Dilip. I said even he should start working 8 hours like Deepika, though he only works 2. It wasn’t a dig at her at all.”
Farah Khan On Fake Controversies
Farah also spoke out against the growing trend of turning harmless moments into viral drama. “This new trend of turning everything into a fake controversy has to stop. Just last week, people said Karan [Johar] and I ignored Aayush Sharma on the red carpet, when in reality, we had already greeted him downstairs! It creates unnecessary tension. Luckily, I pick up the phone and clear things up before it gets out of hand.”
