Dolly Parton has postponed her upcoming Las Vegas concerts due to “health challenges.”

The country music legend announced the news in a message posted Sunday on Instagram.

“I want the fans and public to hear directly from me that, unfortunately, I will need to postpone my upcoming Las Vegas concerts,” she wrote. “As many of you know, I’ve been dealing with some health challenges, and my doctors tell me that I must have a few procedures. As I joked with them, it must be time for my 100,000 check-up, although it’s not the usual trip to see my plastic surgeon!”

She continued: “In all seriousness, given this, I am not going to be able to rehearse and put together the show that I want you to see, and the show that you deserve to see. You pay good money to see me perform, and I want to be at my best for you. While I’ll still be able to work on all of my projects from here in Nashville, I just need a little time to get show ready, as they say. And don’t worry about me quittin’ the business because God hasn’t said anything about stopping yet. But, I believe He is telling me to slow down right now so I can be ready for more big adventures with all of you. I love you and thank you for understanding.”

Parton announced in June that she was planning a set a limited-run engagement at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace. Dolly: Live in Las Vegas was to feature six performances running from Dec. 4-13 during National Finals Rodeo. Tickets went on sale June 25, and the shows sold out in less than two hours.

In her Instagram post, Parton shared the new dates, which will run Sept. 17-26 next year. The post said tickets will be valid for the new dates, and refunds also will be available. Ticket holders will be emailed further instructions.

According to a press release announcing the performances back in June, Dolly: Live in Las Vegas is “a hit-driven concert event bringing global superstar Dolly Parton back to Vegas for her first extended run in 32 years. Weaving together seven decades of classic hits and fan favorites including ‘9 to 5,’ ‘Jolene,’ ‘I Will Always Love You,’ ‘Coat of Many Colors’ and many more, this is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to see one of the world’s most beloved entertainers at the peak of her success.”

“To say I’m excited would be an understatement,” Parton said in a statement at the time. “I haven’t worked Vegas in years, and I’ve always loved singing there. I’m looking so forward to the shows in The Colosseum at Caesars and I hope you are as well. See you there!”

Also this month, Parton missed an announcement of a new attraction at her theme park Dollywood in Tennessee due to a kidney stone. Earlier this year, her husband of nearly 60 years, Carl Dean, died at age 82.

Parton is scheduled to receive the Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award at the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences’ 16th annual Governors Awards on Nov. 16. She also has a musical, Dolly: An Original Musical, headed to Broadway next year.
