Bollywood actress Karisma Kapoor’s ex-husband, Sunjay Kapur, passed away on June 12, 2025. According to reports, he suffered a severe allergic reaction after accidentally swallowing a bee. Reportedly, the business tycoon suffered a severe heart attack. His death has sparked a legal battle within the family, involving his third wife, Priya Sunjay Kapur, Karisma Kapoor, and their children, Kiaan and Samaira. A recent hearing in the Delhi High Court has brought the matter into the main focus.
What is Karisma Kapoor’s children’s allegation?
Priya Sunjay Kapur urged the court to keep the details of Sunjay Kapur’s assets in a sealed envelope. The lawyers representing Karisma Kapoor’s children, Kiaan and Samaira, objected, claiming that nothing was left in the estate, and even the bank accounts had been emptied. They said, “Banks have been wiped off, there is nothing left in the bank account.” Both children have demanded a one-fifth share of their father’s estate. They say that Sunjay Kapoor never mentioned a valid will, while the will Priya mentioned is neither registered nor valid. The court also acknowledged that the children have the right to complete information about the property so they can prove their claim.
What is Priya Kapur’s stand on Sunjay Kapur’s estate battle?
Priya Sunjay Kapur’s lawyer stated that information related to the property and bank accounts is security-related and therefore cannot be made public. They claim that approximately Rs 1,900 crore has already been given to Karisma’s children. Despite this, they are filing a new lawsuit. Priya also said that Karisma and her children were not part of Sunjay Kapur’s life for many years and have suddenly reappeared, even though she herself is a widow with a six-year-old child.
