Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle is breaking box office records globally, solidifying its position as a potential record-holder for the most successful anime film in history.
The Demon Slayer franchise has once again rocked the box office. The new film Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle broke all records as soon as it was released. In the US alone, the film has earned around $70 million in its opening weekend. This is the biggest opening ever for any anime or international film, and it has broken the nearly 30-year-old record of Pokemon: The First Movie. It has also surpassed the previous Demon Slayer film Mugen Train.

According to Box Office Mojo’s report, Infinity Castle has so far earned around $353 million worldwide. The film is now moving towards a point where it can compete with 2020’s Mugen Train, which earned around $500 million and is still the highest-grossing anime film today.

The film has also proved to be a huge hit in Japan. It has set records for the biggest opening day and opening weekend of all time in Japan. The film has surpassed Hayao Miyazaki’s iconic film Spirited Away to become the second biggest film in Japan – Mugen Train is still at number one.

The film is based on the Infinity Castle arc, which continues the story after Demon Slayer season 4. In it, Tanjiro, Hashira and the rest of the Demon Slayer Corps take on Muzan Kibutsuji and his powerful Upper Moon demons. This film is the first of three parts and begins the final battle. Critics have also praised the film, it has a score of 96% on Rotten Tomatoes. Reviews particularly praise Ufotable’s brilliant animation, emotional story and amazing action scenes.
