The film was announced in January 2024 when Anthikad confirmed to work with Mohanlal after a long gap. The title was released in July 2024 and shooting began in Pune and Kochi from February 2025, which was completed in May. The technical team includes cinematography by Anu Muthedath, editing by K. Rajagopal and music by Justin Prabhakaran. The screenplay and dialogues are written by Sonu T.P., based on a story by Akhil Sathyan.

Reportedly, seventy three thousand tickets were sold on Book My Show (BMS) alone, registering a growth of 35% on the last day.

The story of Hridaypoorvam revolves around Sandeep Balakrishnan played by Mohanlal, who arrives in Pune after a heart transplant to meet the family of his donor, a jovial colonel. Circumstances force him to stay with the family and slowly he becomes a part of their lives. The film beautifully portrays the depth of human relationships and emotions.
