Aamir Khan’s film collects THIS amount; will it enter Rs 200 crore mark?

Aamir Khan starrer film Sitaare Zameen Par is directed by RS Prasanna and it is the spiritual sequel of Taare Zameen Par. The film made a strong comeback in the second week of release and has been winning hearts with its storyline. The film has maintained its momentum at the box office and is now inching towards Rs 200 crore mark.

According to industry tracker Sacnilk, Sitaare Zameen Par has made an estimated business of Rs 1.37 crore on Monday, June 30 compared to Sunday as it collected Rs 14.5 crore. The film witnessed an overall 12.39% occupancy in the Hindi language on Sunday and the morning shows’ occupancy was 10.69%, while the afternoon shows had 14.08% occupancy. Sitaare Zameen Par’s maximum occupancy was observed in Jaipur (23%), followed by Bengaluru (17.5%), NCR (16.5%), Chennai (15.5%), Lucknow (14.5%) and Chandigarh/Mumbai (13.5%).

Reportedly, the film collected an overall Rs 198 crore worldwide till Sunday which had Rs 122.65 crore (India net) and Rs 36 crore from overseas. Sitaare Zameen Par earned Rs 67 lakh in Tamil and Rs 40 lakh in Telugu. The film reportedly sold 1,15,344 tickets for 9,542 shows nationwide. The film also stars Genelia Deshmukh, Aroush Datta, Gopi Krishnan Varma, Vedant Sharmaa, Naman Misra, Rishi Shahani, Rishabh Jain, Ashish Pendse, Samvit Desai, Simran Mangeshkar, Aayush Bhansali, Dolly Ahluwalia, Gurpal Singh, Brijendra Kala and Ankita Sehgal in interesting roles.

Despite new releases like Maa and Kannappa, Aamir’s film continues to grab all the attention. Taare Zameen Par was about Ishaan, a dyslexic child played by Darsheel Safary and the film starred Tisca Chopra and Vipin Sharma in pivotal roles. Sitaare Zameen Par is a sports comedy drama film produced by Aamir Khan and Aparna Purohit.
