Actress Garvita Sadhwani of Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai spoke about facing brutal trolling for her character Ruhi in the show. Here’s what she said.
Popular television actress Garvita Sadhwani, who played the role of Ruhi in Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai had bid adieu to the show. The makers portrayed her character in the show as relocating to Japan with her son. In an interview with India Forums and spoke her heart out about her negative character on the show. She also opened up about the kind of trolling she got due to her negative character in Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai.
Garvita remembered mean comments on her character starting when her role became negative. She said, “Ruhi started off as a positive character because at that time there were no problems or altercations between Abhira and her and when I entered during the Holi sequence, people were very receptive and there were very positive reactions to it. So for the first few months, I got used to very positive reactions. Itna kuch nahi tha.”
Garvita revealed Armaan was called ‘bhabhi lover’
She even added saying that Ruhi had a liking towards Armaan who was married to Abhira and this led to more negative trolling. She added saying, “At that time I used to justify in my head, theek hai na, Ruhi us se pehle pyaar karti thi, it is a contract marriage, theek hai, justified. Toh ofcourse people will not view it like that, people had really started liking Abhira and Armaan which is really good for the show and wahi pura mudda tha ke Abhira aur Armaan sath aa rahe hai and Ruhi beech mein koi aata hai na, the other word for it is obviously the ‘beech'”.
The Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai actress even revealed that she did not feel bad until things were said to Garvita. She further said, “Ruhi ke liye they would use certain terms like you know ‘lusty bhabhi’ and all that, Armaan was called ‘bhabhi lover.’ If you think about it, its fine, because rishte mein bhabhi thi. Initially I thought are these the kind of words that I want to listen for myself? Then I thought, its okay, its not Garvita and I am no one’s bhabhi, so it is fine”.
She was called ‘Lusty Bhabhi’
She even said, “Up until a time when Ruhi and Abhira’s sister wala track came up and Ruhi was out and out negative. That was when I think people forgot, for a little while there, difference between Ruhi and Garvita and only on social media, aise sadak pe chalte huye nahi. So at that time I read a few comments that Garvita is not acting well and I used to think, ‘I don’t think acting is the problem.’ I have been the same and if anything, I will only grow, I will not go back. Main acting bhool nahi sakti hoon, its just that jab aapko koi insaan waise nahi pasand aaraha hota hai toh aapko uski har chiz hi galat lagti hai. Uss point pe problem ye thi ke ye kyun Shadi todne ki koshish kar rahi hai? In hindsight, honestly none of it matters because if you really think about it when I am leaving now, when I am not a part of the show, there is only love you know”.
Garvita even spoke about a new love interest in Armaan’s life and said that now she will get targeted. She even said that she feels that it is just a part of the game. Garvita also said that if it is the other person in the show, then it becomes a third wheel and a bit of hatred comes their way.
The show is currently focused on Armaan who sees Abhira happy with Anshuman and feels that she has moved on in her life.
