    All We Imagine As Light director Payal Kapadia’s FIRST reaction on losing out on Golden Globe Awards

    India had high hopes of winning a Golden Globe Award this year as Payal Kapadia‘s movie All We Imagine As Light was nominated in two categories. The Malayalam movie penned and directed by Payal Kapadia features Kani Kusruti, Divya Prabha, Chhaya Kadam and Hridhu Haroon in leading roles. The film had its international premiere at 77th Cannes Film Festival. The movie won the Grand Prix at Cannes. Next, All We Imagine As Light was nominated in two categories at 82nd Golden Globe Awards. However, much to the disappointment of fans, the two film lost in both categories.     Payal Kapadia shares her experience of being at Golden Globes 2025

    Payal Kapadia’s movie All We Imagine As Light was nominated in two categories – Best Non-English Language Motion Picture award and Best Director. However, Spanish film Emilia Pérez won the Best Non-English Language Motion Picture award. The Best Director award was handed over to Brady Corbet for The Brutalist as reported in entertainment news. Payal Kapadia was present at Golden Globe Awards 2025 and cheered for the winners. In her first reaction to Golden Globes defeat, she shared a post on her Insta stories along with a picture from the event. She posed with with producers Thomas Hakim, Julien Graff, and Ranabir Das and wrote, “We didn’t win anything but had so much fun.” Payal dressed in a black jumpsuit that had detailing of red cloth around the neck for the event.     Earlier, All We Imagine As Light lost out on Oscars. It was in contention to be India’s entry into Oscars 2025. However, Film Federation of India chose Kiran Rao’s Laapataa Ladies for Best International Feature Film. However, it did not get shortlisted for Academy Awards.

    All We Imagine as Light that received limited release is now available on OTT for all to watch. It is streaming on Disney+Hotstar. On IMDb, the movie has received a rating of 7.3.
