On January 5, 2025, Akshay Kumar launched the Sky Force trailer in Mumbai. It is his first release of 2025. The action-packed patriotic drama has got his fans excited for the movie. Akshay is one of the few 90s stars with multiple releases for the past few years. However, he has been struggling to mint good numbers at the box office. In 2024, despite some promising releases, his films didn’t perform well and didn’t receive many good reviews.
Akshay Kumar on back-to-back flops
Today, at the trailer launch, Akshay Kumar was asked his reaction to 2024 being a disappointing year for him in terms of box office numbers. The actor said that this is not the first time it has happened to him. Akshay believes the best thing he can do is keep working hard. Akshay revealed that lots of people have told him to do a maximum of two films in a year. But he believes if he can do more, why shouldn’t he?
Further in this entertainment news, Akshay responded, “My entire career has been made at this pace with dedication and hard work. I have also been told not to take up content-based films, but I don’t want to do that. Even though the film didn’t work, I was very proud that I made a film like Sarfira. It is one of my best films.”

In 2024, Akshay Kumar had three big releases: Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, Sarfira, and Khel Khel Mein. He also had special appearances in Stree 2 and Singham Again. Surprisingly, the movies in which he had special appearances did well at the box office. Coming to Sky Force, the film is helmed by Sandeep Kewlani and also stars Nimrat Kaur, Sara Ali Khan, and Veer Pahariya. It will hit theatres on January 24, 2025. His other releases of this year include Welcome to the Jungle, Housefull 5, Jolly LLB 3, and Bhoot Bangala.
