Deepika Padukone‘s year 2023 was a great one. Her film Kalki 2898 AD did phenomenally well at the box office. The film by Nag Ashwin had Prabhas and Amitabh Bachchan in pivotal roles. The movie turned out to be one of the highest grossers of 2023. Later in the year, Deepika Padukone embraced motherhood. On September 8, 2024, Deepika Padukone gave birth to daughter Dua. Since then, she has been on maternity leave.
Deepika Padukone is in no rush to resume work
Deepika Padukone, when pregnant had been a part of the promotions of Kalki 2898 AD. However, she skipped the promotions of Singham Again as she had given birth to Dua. Since then, Deepika has put her full focus on her motherhood duties and she is in no hurry to get back to work. Recently, Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone organised a meet-up session with the paps. They have decided to keep their daughter Dua away from the limelight but during this meet-up session, they introduced their little princess to the shutterbugs. It is during this media meet that Deepika Padukone was asked about getting back to work and beginning the shooting for Kalki 2898 AD part 2. The actress expressed that she is in no rush to resume work and rather wants to spend time with Dua, as reported by entertainment news portal Etimes. She does not want to rely on nanny. She does not want to take any external help and rather wants to be with Dua. Thus, she will take time to get back to work. Does this mean that the shooting of Kalki 2898 AD part 2 get delayed?
Reports have it that the makers of Kalki 2898 AD is going to begin in February 2025. Some reports suggest that the shooting will begin in March. But if the latest reports are true, then there is a possibility of it getting delayed as Deepika Padukone is in no rush to return to work.
