Stree 2, directed by Amar Kaushik, is taking the box office by storm with its stellar performance. Starring Rajkummar Rao, Shraddha Kapoor, Abhishek Banerjee, Pankaj Tripathi, and Aparshakti Khurana in lead roles, the film hit theatres on August 15 and has been met with rave reviews from both audiences and critics. Within just 10 days, the horror-comedy has surpassed Rs 500 crores at the worldwide box office, making it a massive success. As a sequel to the 2018 hit Stree, this installment continues to deliver the perfect blend of horror and humour. BollywoodLife recently spoke with Abhishek Banerjee about his character, Jana, who now possesses a new superpower—he can see into the other side. For those who have watched Stree 2, it’s clear that Jana can now peek into the world of Stree and Sarkata, observing their movements and actions. Jana’s powers stem from the fact that Stree possessed him in the first part and Sarkata bit him in the sequel. He is also the one who was there in the Bhediya universe. Every entertainment news portal has helmed Abhishek’s performance as Jana, the one who’s always there for his friends, no matter what! When asked whether Jana could become the next supervillain in the horror-comedy universe, Abhishek seemed quite excited about the idea, hinting at the intriguing possibilities this new power might bring to the storyline. So how does he see his character’s growth in the horror universe after having this exciting new power and becoming the next supervillain? Considering he’s connected between the good and the bad and is also the one who knows about Bhediya and now the vampire work Abhishek Banerjee said, “I think Jana will keep jumping between realms. That’s very interesting. Now I can see what’s happening. I truly am the Sanjay of this entire universe. I think, in the future, there will be a day when Jana will be sitting and chilling with all the superheroes and supervillains of the world and just messing around. I think everybody trusts him. Even villains love him. Even Stree gave him some power, and she was supposed to be the ‘Demon’ in the first part. When you get so much love from friends, witches, Bhediya, and Sarkata, what more do you need in life?”

About our theory of Jana becoming a supervillain, the Paatal Lok star said, “Oh, that’s a great idea. I think, Amar Kaushik, you need to hear this out. I can be the supervillain. Jana as a supervillain would be interesting. But let’s see, because I don’t know what plans they have or how the story will be crafted further. But I do know that whenever Jana comes, in any universe, you guys are going to have a lot of fun. Because whatever trouble is going to happen, it will happen to him. So let’s see whether the vampire sucks his blood or not.”
