    Kangana Ranaut wants online content to get strictly censored; says ‘Leads to rise of women objectification’

    Kangana Ranaut is set for her first theatrical release of 2024, Emergency. In the political drama, the actress plays the former Prime Minister, Indira Gandhi. The trailer for the same was released 2 weeks ago. Ranaut has started the promotions for her upcoming film and has been giving interviews in which she discusses several topics. From Bollywood to her thoughts on marriage, the actress has been quite candid. In a recent interview, Kangana expressed her opinions on the growing popularity of OTT platforms and her belief in the implementation of censorship on online content.     Kangana Ranaut, in an interview with the Times of India, expressed her concerns about the content on various OTT platforms and her desire for stricter censorship rules. The Queen actress pointed out that more and more people are watching violent and disturbing shows, how women are objectified in them, and how it’s impacting real society.     Kangana told the entertainment news portal that the content on these platforms has become much more violent and disturbing, especially since people watch it alone with headphones on. Ranaut believes this has caused a noticeable increase in the objectification of women. Kangana also stated that online shows, even those on YouTube, should be censored, as many other countries have already implemented such measures and are doing better than India in this regard. The actress further expressed concern about the worrying cases happening in India, which she feels is quite alarming. Also Read – Emergency in trouble?     In the same interview, the Manikarnika actress also spoke about feminism, warning against a cultural shift that might impact women’s inherent qualities. The actress said that it’s important not to push feminism to a point where it becomes harmful and starts making women more like men, taking away their femininity and their birthright to be admired, nurtured, loved, and protected. Ranaut stressed how people tend to go to extremes, so it shouldn’t make the culture toxic.

    Speaking of the Emergency movie, Kangana Ranaut has also directed the political drama. It also stars Anupam Kher, Shreyas Talpade, and Mahima Chaudhry. The film is slated to hit theatres on September 6, 2024.
